This blog has been getting spammed by someone trying to draw others to her site. I have reviewed her site and basically all she does is copy things from the internet and post them there. She doesn't have a good grasp of Cherokee history and she caters to many of the myths and misconceptions about our history. She claims to descend from Moytoy, though no documentation exists to show exactly who descends from him. These types of people are dangerous. They use their "being Cherokee" to make people think they know what they are talking about. Believe me, I have communicated with this woman in the past and she doesn't have a clue about Cherokee history, culture or issues. In her own words "My grandpa can also be found on the rolls...which is why I got an Indian card. So I can verify I'm a card carrying member of the Cherokee Nation...but that's about it."
Be careful what you believe and who you believe, people. There are some registered Cherokees out there who don't care about anything other than their card and the "big" names they claim to descend from. Wannabes are always trying to re-write our history. We don't need real Cherokees doing it. We have to stand up to these people and let them know their behaviors will NOT be tolerated!
Those are my thoughts for today.
Thank you for reading.
