If you haven't heard, the
sentate for the state of Virginia has voted to give state recognition to two "Cherokee" tribes. The problem is, these groups are in no way, shape or form connected to the historical Cherokee Nation. I will write more about that in a few days, but first, I want to urge all Cherokees and others who are concerned about the state recognition of fraudulent tribes to either send emails, write or call the people below, letting them know your feelings about these groups being given state tribal recognition. This is not a done deal and it will still have to pass the VA house and then be signed by the governor before it is final. We have time to stop it so make phone calls or send emails!
